  • About Us

Plat Douet Primary School first opened its doors in 1968 and today provides education for boys and girls aged 3–11. We currently have around 440 children on roll.

Our school is well resourced, with seventeen classrooms, a 3G pitch, a dedicated music room, a hall with fixed apparatus and a wildlife area. The grounds are spacious and welcoming, featuring a large playing field and an adventure play area.

Class teachers take responsibility for both the welfare of the children and the delivery of the curriculum. Teaching and learning are carefully planned within year groups, with strong collaboration between teachers and valuable support from our teaching assistant team. During planning, staff share ideas and preparation, drawing on their diverse experiences, knowledge, and expertise to ensure learning is engaging, relevant, and tailored to the needs of the children.

By working together in this way, we are able to harness the strengths of a large and skilled staff team, continually enhancing the quality of teaching and learning at Plat Douet.
