Miss Macminn (Year 2M) and Miss Roberts (Year 2R) would like to welcome all the Year 2 children back. The children have had a super few days settling in and going over the class routines and expectations. This academic year the children will learn all about The Great Fire of London during English and History and will compare the equipment used back in the 1600s compared to today, including a visit from Jersey Fire and Rescue. In Math, the children will develop their times table knowledge, division, addition and subtraction skills using a variety of resources. As we move through the year they will be introduced to 3D shapes, telling the time on an analogue clock and measuring using centimetres and millilitres. Our Geography topics will focus on Jersey, the Channel Island and the United Kingdom. Science will include learning about plants and living things, animals including humans and materials, look out for a trip or two!
