Snacks and Lunches

At Plat Douet, we know how important healthy, nutritious food is for children’s wellbeing, concentration and learning. We aim to support families by offering a balanced school meal each day and promoting healthy eating habits.

Snacks and Fruit

Children should bring in a named water bottle each day to stay hydrated throughout the day.

We encourage children to bring a healthy snack for morning break, such as fruit, vegetables, or a low-sugar cereal bar. Please avoid sweets, chocolate and crisps.

To support healthy choices, we also provide free fruit daily to all children.

Hot School Meals

We offer hot school lunches every day, which include a main meal and a dessert. Meals are cooked on site and follow nutritional guidelines to ensure your child receives a well-balanced diet.

  • Cost: £2.50 per day, however;
  • Jersey Premium (JP) children: Free school meals available
  • How to pay and book meals: We use the ParentPay system. If you haven’t signed up yet, please speak to the school office and we’ll be happy to help.

Children are given 20 minutes to eat their lunch, giving them plenty of time to enjoy their food before heading out to play.

Please note: Plat Douet is a nut-free school.
We have children in school with severe nut allergies, so we kindly ask that no products containing nuts are brought into school under any circumstances. This includes peanut butter, Nutella, cereal bars with nuts, and snack packs.
